Want to find out what web server software that site is running ? Microsoft IIS, Apache, Netscape or some other ? you came at the right spot. Currently i (zillion) have been working on this script to add os fingerprinting (32 pieces at the moment). This script uses server headers to guess the operating system. For example if a server header contains (WIN32) then it's probably a Windows (duh) This script uses a database with server headers to determen what server the system is running. Once the server has been identified it is quit easy to do an operating system guess. Changing server headers is not too difficult (use a hex editor for compiled servers) and not all web servers reveal information in their headers. So the header fingerprinting is a nice method and can be very helpfull but will not stand in court ;) Feel free to send comments, headers or suggestions about this tool to zillion at safemode.org.

Enter the name of the site to ask below: (eg. www.redhat.com)
